Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Code Mirroring (“we”, “us”, “the site”) handles information when you visit https://www.codemirroring.com/.
Summary
- Most educational pages are static content.
- Browser-based tools process input locally in your browser. We do not upload tool inputs (JSON, SQL, tokens, etc.) to our servers for those tools.
- We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic.
- We may display Google AdSense ads in the future. AdSense and Analytics use cookies or similar technologies as described by Google.
Information we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4. Analytics may collect device/browser information, approximate location, pages viewed, and engagement metrics (such as which tools were used and which actions were clicked — for example a tool_use event with a tool name and action label). Analytics does not receive the contents of tool text areas or pasted secrets by design.
Google’s processing is described in Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses data from sites that use our services.
Advertising (when enabled)
If Google AdSense is enabled on the site, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads, measure performance, and (where permitted) personalize ads based on interests. You can learn more and manage ad settings at Google Ads Settings and review AdSense’s policies via Google.
Communications
If you email us via the address listed on the Contact page, we receive whatever you include in that message (for example your email address and message body) and use it only to respond.
Server / hosting logs
Our hosting or CDN provider may retain standard technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps, requested URLs) for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
Cookies and similar technologies
Analytics (and AdSense, when enabled) may set first- or third-party cookies or use local storage. Browser controls can block or delete cookies; doing so may affect site analytics accuracy and some ad experiences.
Where required by law (for example in the EEA/UK), we intend to use an appropriate consent or transparency mechanism before non-essential cookies. Until that banner/CMP is enabled, please treat third-party analytics/ads as described here and in Google’s policies.
Browser tools — local processing
Formatter, converter, calculator, and visualizer tools on this site are designed to run client-side. Do not paste highly sensitive production secrets into any web tool if your threat model does not allow it; prefer offline tooling for those cases.
Data retention
Analytics retention follows our Google Analytics property settings. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to handle your request. Hosting logs follow the host’s retention practices.
Your choices
- Use browser settings to block cookies or clear site data.
- Use Google’s ads and analytics controls linked above where available.
- Contact us via the Contact page for privacy questions about this site.
Children’s privacy
The site is intended for a general technical audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised policy.
